Since I was born till date, I am yet to find one reason not
to love my country. I hail from Ogbunike, Anambra state but spent the early
years of my life in Onitsha before proceeding to Owerri, Imo state for
secondary education. I’ve enjoyed the native foods of the Igbos and the way we
stand up for each other in situations as tough as they may seem. During my
years as an Undergraduate of University of Jos (Greatest Jossites!!!!) I had the
opportunity to enjoy the serene environment and the beauty of nature which
God showed off on the Plateau; and then the amazing modes of greeting in our
various tribes… simply amazing!! Did I mention that I felt much more love while
living with people outside my own tribe?
I take today out to celebrate Nigeria, my great country
whose glory is in her diversity. God has endowed our nation naturally and our
people physically and mentally. We don’t get to experience earthquakes,
hurricanes (with all kinds of names), typhoons and other scary natural
disasters. The history of some important inventions will not be complete
without mentioning a Nigerian, including the history of the computer. Nigerians
survive any and everywhere!! Nigerians are the happiest in every situation.
Nigeria is beautiful with lots of cultural backgrounds merged to form one big
family. We are strong, we love, play, laugh, pray and live by faith. These are just
few out of the many reasons to thank God for Nigeria.
The attacks of the devil are usually proofs of the bright future
of a project/person/thing. If his mission is to steal, kill and destroy; you
should expect his target to be great projects and people with bright future.
God has great plans for Nigeria which the devil is fighting with all he can… we
can’t let that happen. See reasons to commit this nation to God in prayer. Try
as much as you can to be positive about this nation. I love Nigeria!! Nigeria
shall smile again!! God will heal Nigeria!!
If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. {2Cor 7:14 NIV)
Since the Bible says we shall have whatsoever we say, why do we
have people saying lots of negative things about this nation? Let’s speak great
words concerning this nation and watch them come to pass.
And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive (Mat. 21:22 KJV)
Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. (Mark 11:24 NIV)
